Nigeria Student Fashion and Design Week Returns to Lagos for 2025 Edition

The Nigeria Student Fashion and Design Week (NSFDW) returns for its ninth edition in December 2025 on Victoria Island, Lagos, joining the city’s vibrant Detty December season. The festival remains focused on showcasing student and early-career designers from across Nigeria and beyond, offering a high-energy platform for discovery and connection.

A Platform for Africa’s Next Design Generation

Since 2013 NSFDW has launched more than 300 designers into the fashion ecosystem, with alumni such as PatrickSlim and Vienne Styling building regional and international profiles. Founder Abiola Orimolade says, “We provide space for young creatives to present work, meet industry mentors and take practical steps toward a career in fashion.” The week acts as both runway and classroom, blending critique, exposure and practical pathway-building for young designers.

The 2025 Experience: Beyond the Runway

Attendees can expect curated runway shows, expert-led panel discussions, portfolio reviews and networking sessions designed to connect designers with buyers, media and production partners. Programming will highlight sustainable practice, textile innovation and commercial ready-to-wear. Partners and supporters, including GAC Motors, will participate in activations across the venue on Victoria Island, creating opportunities for collaboration and investment.

Global Impact of African Creativity

NSFDW is part of a wider moment that is pushing African design onto international runways and retail floors. By spotlighting fresh perspectives and new talent, the event helps position Lagos as a creative hub and opens pathways for cross-border partnerships. For creatives in London and beyond, NSFDW is a place to discover the next wave of designers shaping global fashion trends.
