Olympia and the Design Museum have launched a year-long partnership that brings world-class design to one of London’s most visible public stages. The collaboration positions Olympia as a new cultural destination where ambitious, accessible design experiences meet everyday London life.
Olympia’s vision: London’s new cultural heart
Once known primarily for exhibitions and events, Olympia is reimagining its role in the city by opening up high-impact creative programming to the public. The partnership with the Design Museum takes design out of gallery spaces and into a prominent, free-to-view location. This move broadens access to contemporary design and signals a fresh cultural chapter for the venue.
NIGO’s impact on The Canvas
The first major presentation is a digital showing of NIGO: From Japan with Love on Olympia’s 83-metre screen, The Canvas. The free, large-format projection celebrates NIGO, the Japanese designer behind streetwear labels A Bathing Ape and Human Made, whose work has shaped global street and luxury fashion culture. Produced in collaboration with Pixel Artworks, the presentation runs daily until 4 October and can be seen by passersby and visitors alike.
A glimpse into future creativity
The year-long relationship promises more ambitious activations, with a headline future programme that includes the Es Devlin: Other Worlds exhibition scheduled for 2026 and 2027. Audiences can expect immersive, varied projects that use Olympia’s scale and the Design Museum’s curatorial strength to present design in new formats.
By amplifying design through free public displays and high-profile partnerships, Olympia is redefining itself as an accessible hub for culture, creativity and conversation. Londoners and visitors are invited to see these installations in person and experience how bold design can transform shared urban spaces.
