Manchester Culture Awards 2026 are inviting nominations from across the city. These awards recognise the people, groups and venues that make Manchester a creative and cultural hub, with particular spotlight on independent makers, craft-led projects and community-driven initiatives.

Led by Manchester City Council in partnership with local cultural organisations, the Culture Awards celebrate achievements across music, performance, food and drink, craft, visual arts and storytelling. Over the years the awards have helped raise profiles, attract support and bring communities together around shared creativity.

How to Nominate
To nominate, visit the Manchester City Council nominations page or the Manchester Culture Awards nominations portal. You will be asked to provide nominator contact details, nominee details, the category you are nominating for and a short supporting statement (aim for about 150 words). Uploads such as photos, event links or project evidence are welcome where the form allows.
Important Dates to Remember
Nominations are open now and close 31 January 2026. Shortlisted entries will be announced in early spring, with the awards ceremony taking place in March 2026. Check the official awards page for any updates.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Anyone making a meaningful contribution to Manchester’s cultural life can be nominated. This includes artists, craftspeople, community groups, venues, cultural organisations and grassroots initiatives that are Manchester-based or whose work significantly benefits the city.
Awards Reflecting a Diverse Creative Community
Categories range from Craft and Young Creative to Outstanding Storytelling and the Cultural Welcome Award. There are also awards for Venue of the Year, Community Project and Food and Drink initiatives, ensuring a broad mix of creative practice and cultural impact is recognised.
